The Colima Project at Contra Costa College
is an Arts + STEM collaboration between Spanish-speaking students from the US, professionals in the arts and sciences, and residents of the town of Colima, El Salvador, a sugarcane farming cooperative 47 kilometers north of San Salvador in Cuscatlán, El Salvador.
For the past ten years, The Colima Project has initiated projects in visual and performing arts, oral history, community approaches to agriculture, and development issues during a month-long work period in Colima each summer.
This year students will participate in a two-week intensive internship at Contra Costa College and a two-week cultural exchange in Colima during the months of July and August.
